MGM TOURNAMENT OF HOPE

RAY JOHNSTON BAND BENEFIT CONCERT 2 009 
After surviving multiple bouts of a deadly form of leukemia, this former Montgomery Academy/UA/Dallas Mavericks basketball player celebrates his good fortune with the help of his band. The Ray Johnston Band performed at AlleyBAR on Saturday night, November 28, 2009 with proceeds going to the Cancer Wellness Foundation and the Dallas Heroes Foundation.

HEALING ARTS CELEBRATION 2008
This special art therapy workshop for female cancer patients focused on a woman's cancer experience. The workshop was led by Daphne artist Provie Musso at the Old Cloverdale School at Huntingdon College August 1-3, 2008. The Healing Arts Exhibit and Reception at Stonehenge Gallery concluded the 3 day event.

Similarly, the July 2007 exhibition at Stonehenge Gallery in Old Cloverdale was enhanced with works by local artists and the unveiling of a collaborative tile mural called "The Healing Project" at a special reception.

DR. DAVE WELCH CHARITY GALA 2008
8th annual party for charity featured a $10,000 Draw Down, Silent Auction with trips, original art and more. Drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and live enterainment was enjoyed by more than 250 guests joining in the effort to raise money at Wynlakes Country Club on Saturday, August 16.

A TASTE FOR LIFE!
Beginning in May, area restaurants participated in a "Dine and Donate" campaign to help local cancer patients by collecting special "tips" from diners. These "tips" bought transportation and medications for patients undergoing treatment.

The Taste for Life Grand Finale,
a street party with tapas, drinks and entertainment by The Sweet Young'uns, was the first ever event at the Court Square Fountain in downtown Montgomery on Saturday June 21. Special guests Chef Joe DiMaggio, Jr., Sporano's star Bobby Funaro and local personality Leslie Bailey were on hand to host.

6TH ANNUAL SKIPPY MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

In its 6th year, Skippy has become one of the most fun charity golf events in the area! Skippy tournaments have now raised over $130,000 for local cancer patients!
The fun began Wednesday, June 4 with Texas Hold'em at Flanagan's Pub and continued on Friday night with Calcutta bidding. The festivities culminated with golf and prizes on Saturday morning June 7th and the post tournament party at Flanagan's on Saturday evening.
